The vision for the Palm River Hotel was simultaneously simple and complex: a unique hotel offering unparalleled luxury without compromising a sense of home comfort; vast, unimpeded views which maintained shelter and privacy; the convenience of a central location preserved within a tranquil bubble of peace and quiet. And with its opening that vision becomes reality. 

The hotel’s location could not be more idyllic, situated along the banks of the iconic Zambezi River, among towering indigenous trees and only 4km from Africa’s natural world wonder, Victoria Falls – so close in fact, that on a clear, quiet day you can hear the thunder and see the spray of the mighty waterfall from your room. 

The restaurant, located in the main structure, with a large al fresco dining area under a canopy of trees, has stunning garden views sweeping down to the Zambezi River. The cuisine reflects the natural setting, using fresh, local ingredients to create unique fusion fare. 

Set under a canopy of trees in the main area, the outdoor bar serves a selection of local and imported beverages, wines, cocktails, specialty coffees, and fresh fruit juices daily. 

A 20m infinity pool in the foreground of the main area merges with the horizon and offers a cool oasis under the shade of towering trees. At night, the pool area transforms into a starlit wonderland, with the use of cleverly illuminated rocks and lighting. 

Built on the edge of the Zambezi River, the deck is the perfect spot to take in the mighty river and view its wealth of animal and bird life.

Under the shade of a mahogany tree, our inviting upper deck entices you to slip away for a moment of calm or to birdwatch over the pan. For gathering between activities, Kanga Expeditions boasts a full bar and plunge pool for reprieve in the warmth of the day.

Kanga Camp works well in collaboration with Zambezi Expeditions where you can enjoy the excitement of canoeing as well as catch and release fishing on the Zambezi River.
